I started the sketch and the background yesterday. It came out really strategically. This morning Joseph and I were excited to start on the base coat of the amaryllis. This is the part where I set back and get mesmerized by Joseph’s talent. He captured the shadows and mid-tones perfectly. The shadows and mid-tones were done in (Gold) brand high quality acrylic paint. Then comes the first coat of oil. He is using (Winsor & Newton) brand high quality oil paint. The main colors used so far is a lizard crimson, ultra marine blue and ivory black. He is using (Simply Simmons) brushed. Is review on these brushes are “They hold paint really well and the application is extremely smooth.” (Joseph Cantin review) By the end of the day he will have 40 percent of this painting done. Joseph is a devoted painter and his speed is inspiring. I believe he is excited to see the final result so he is always in a hurry.(Laughing) But i do have to say he gets allot done in one day. When is comes time to really start the detail he will slow down and give the painting his undivided attention.
